In Spring of Standstill, Elias Raschle casts his net, directing microphone, camera, and his senses towards the world. Somewhere between town and countryside he starts to explore the surroundings, focusing on how things sound. And so, - spending time, carefully perceiving and strolling around - Spring of Standstill evolves. While observing the world around him, Elias looks inward. Changing locations somewhere between city, countryside, and water sharpens his perception of reality, making him receptive to subtle differences. Months later condensed and reflected, his exploration reveals itself in words, images, and musical weaves. In the studio synths and instruments found their way into the recorded soundscapes. Photographs document the journey, giving hints to sites and sounds. And the artist's thoughts encircle the visual and the acoustic. The result: a record and a book fused together. In delicate interplay, all has become poetry.

Neither an art book nor a concept album, Spring of Standstill lies somewhere in between. Record sleeve and book merge into one another. And so sounds, music, images and poetry come together on paper and vinyl.
